We are saddened to announce the passing of Edsel Renken on Saturday, December 20, 2025 in Alice, Texas, at the age of 91. He was born June 28, 1934 to Edgar and Selma Renken in Robstown, Texas.
Edsel was a graduate of Texas A& M and proudly served our country in the Air Force. He was a local farmer who specialized in cotton and grain and was an avid deer hunter. He was the President of First State Bank of San Diego for many years and he was also a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Selma Osterloh Renken and Edgar Allan Renken; son, Konrad Renken; niece, Glynis Edge.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Alicia Gonzalez Renken; sister, Betty Friedrich; his children, Erik Renken, Rise Renken, Grant Allan Renken, Veronica Zamora Bertrand (Carlos); grandchildren, Luke Allan Renken and Anastasia Lara Bertrand and nephew Bradley Saint-Laurent.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1400 N Texas Blvd, Alice, TX 78332 . A burial will follow at Alice Cemetery,1230 Martin Luther King Rd, Alice Texas.
