James I. “Jim” Fleming, Sr., age 71, went home to be with the Lord at 12:34 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 19, 1946 to Reba and Roy C. Fleming in Baytown, Texas.
Jim was a man of few words, but he said a lot in those words. He was a conscientious employee, working very hard and excelled as a Senior Specialist with Lyondell-Bassell. In 2012, he retired after 35 years.
He and Dianne enjoyed every moment of their 45 years together. Whether it was one of “Jim and Dianne’s” Big Adventures to the Hill Country, or just a quick drive to pick up a DQ Malt, they were two peas in a pod – the love of each other’s life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Reba Fleming.
Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dianne C. Fleming; his children, Jeana Atkinson, Paula (Kyle) Boyd-Robertson, James (Lisa) Fleming, Jr., and Joel (Carrie) Fleming; his grandchildren, Steven (Megan) Boyd-Robertson, Lauren Oakes, Aaron Fleming, Kayla Boyd-Robertson, Drake Atkinson, Ryan Fleming, and Melissa (Sean) Kerr; his great-grandchildren, Iris Boyd-Robertson, Hunter Boyd-Robertson, and Clayton Kerr; his sister, Pam (Gary) Bailey and his brother, Mark (Jewel) Fleming, as well as many friends.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice, Texas.
The Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at West Shore Baptist Church in Sandia, Texas.
